High Protein Sammy’s Special Oatmeal

Peanut Butter Protein Oatmeal
Sammy’s peanut butter protein oatmeal.

Someone got a little jealous of my blog posts.  He wanted to make a post of his own.  He happens to have a favorite food worthy of a place on the blog.  This little guy is going through an extremely picky phase. Lucky for me, he came up with this protein-packed oatmeal.  He saw me make oatmeal one day and add a scoop of vanilla protein.  He asked if he could have some with peanut butter in it.  I can honestly say, I’ve never had it quite like this because I’m allergic to peanut butter.  It definitely meets his approval.  He asks for it 3 times each day.


1/2 – 3/4 cup old fashioned oatmeal (If you need gluten-free, look for one that is certified gluten-free)

1 heaping Tbsp of any nut butter

1/2 – 1 whole scoop vanilla protein (one that fits your dietary parameters)

1/2 – 3/4 cup boiling water

Directions: Put the oats in a bowl.  Set the spoon with the peanut butter in the bowl.  Pour the water over it.  This makes the peanut butter melt off for easier mixing.  Only add the protein in after you’ve mixed everything thoroughly (especially if it’s whey). If you add it before the boiling water, it sort of curdles.  Not good.  This is super easy.  Another great thing about it is that you can easily bring these ingredients while traveling. They’re so portable.  It makes it possible to eat right, even away from home.
