REAL, FRUGAL, HEALTHY, and FUN!!!
Everyday, lately, I have a green smoothie for lunch. I do a little meal prep work about once a week which really makes this smoothie quick and easy. Each week I puree up a bag of spinach and 3 cucumbers. I pour the green puree into my ice cube trays. Once they’re frozen solid, I pop them out and store them in a large freezer bag. I also prep my bananas at the beginning of each week. I peel them, cut them in half, and freeze them. Once they’re frozen, I throw them in a freezer bag. That’s it as far as meal prep for my smoothies. Now I’ll share with you how I make them:
3 frozen spinach/cucumber cubes (explained above)
1/2 frozen banana
1 scoop vanilla protein (whey or other)
1 cup milk or milk alternative of your choice (I used almond milk)
Directions: Throw everything in the blender until smooth. Enjoy! It’s a refreshing way to get some more greens and protein into your day. You really don’t taste the veggies. It’s actually delicious and satisfying. You get protein, iron, potassium, fiber, and calcium. It supports healthy digestion, heart health, and protects against cancer. It contains both antioxidants and anti inflammatories, which are your best defenses against disease. Cheers to better health!
